SSC CGL Application Form 2017: CGL stands for Combined Graduate Level. It is a competitive exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year. The purpose of this department is to select deserving candidates for various posts in Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations in Central Government Department. SSC CGL 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for SSC CGL Tier I 2017:
- Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
- Candidates must have done graduation in any discipline from recognized university.
- The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 27 years as on 1st January 2017. Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rules.
SSC CGL Application Fee Details
SSC CGL Application Form 2017: Candidates can pay SSC CGL Application Form Fee via online mode i.e. by using the credit card/debit card, SBI Net Banking or online generated SBI challan and can pay the application fee by using offline mode i.e. Bank Challan from SBI Bank. Candidates have to fill the challan detail in the application form. The detail of application fee is given below:
- Fee for General Category Candidates is Rs. 100/-
- Form Fee is exempted for candidates of SC/ST/PH and Ex-Servicemen category.
- Female Candidates of all categories are exempted from paying the application fee.
How to Apply for SSC CGL Tier I 2017
Candidates can apply for SSC CGL Tier I through online mode. Candidates have to visit the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in. Now, Search for the link of CGL Tier I 2017 and click “Apply Online” and online application form will appear on the screen.
Now, fill all the required information like personal detail, educational detail, application fee payment detail etc. Upload the scanned photograph and signature. After checking the filled form, Click Submit. Click Save and take the printout of it for future use.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
SSC CGL Application Form 2017: Combined Graduate Level Examination consists of three levels i.e. CGL Tier I, CGL Tier II and Proficiency/Skill Test. Candidates, who secure minimum passed marks decided by SSC, will go to next level i.e.
CGL Tier II and Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in CGL Tier II for Proficiency Test/Skill Test. Exam Pattern is different for both the levels. The exam patterns for SSC CGL Tier I Tier II are given below:
Exam Pattern for SSC CGL Tier I 2017:
Exam paper will consist of objective type MCQs. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and there will be 0.25 negative marking for the wrong answer.
The duration of 2 hours will be given to attempt the exam. Extra 40 minutes will be provided to VH candidates. Subject wise detail is given below:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 questions
- General Awareness: 50 questions
- Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions
- English Comprehension: 50 questions
SSC Exam Pattern for CGL Tier II 2017:
SSC CGL Application Form 2017: Objective Type MCQs will be asked in this examination. Two marks will be awarded for each correct answer and there will be 0.50 negative marking for the wrong answer for Maths and Statistics subject and 0.25 negative marking for English subject.
There will be only two subjects and 100 questions will be asked from each subject and there will be another subject of Statistics for one post of Statistical Invigilator. The duration of 2 hours will be given to attempt questions of each subject. Extra 40 minutes will be provided to VH candidates. Subject wise detail is given below:
- Quantitative Ability: 100 questions
- English Language and Comprehension: 100 Questions
- Statistics: 100 Questions
SSC CGL Selection Procedure
SSC CGL Application Form 2017: Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in Tier I, Tier II and Proficiency/ Skill test. Only those candidates ill be eligible for Tier II, who will secure cut off marks decided by SSC. After those candidates have to appear for Tier II exam. Candidates will be shortlisted for proficiency test on the basis of marks obtained in the CGL Tier II. Candidates, who qualify in this test, will be given the letter of joining. There is no need to register their names again for CGL Tier II. It is obvious that candidates, qualified in the Tier I, are eligible for Tier II.
