Staff Selection Commission conducts Junior Engineer Examination every year to provide job opportunity to work as Junior Engineer in Central Government Department. The exam is conducted at national level and candidates from all states come to participate for this test every year. The selection procedure include two stages i.e. Written Test and Interview.
Candidates will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of performance in written test. Application form for SSC JE Posts for session year 2016-17 will be released in the month of August 2016 and the examination will be held in the month of December 2016.

It is compulsory to fulfill the eligibility criteria for applying. The detail of eligibility criteria is given below:
- Applicant must be an Indian Citizen.
- Age limit is 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved category candidates as per government rules.
- Applicant must have completed B.Tech. or 4 years Diploma in Engineering in relevant field(Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) with two years experience.
- Starting Date to Apply Online: 20th August 2016
- Closing Date to Apply Online: 16th September 2016
- Date of Examination: 11th December 2016
Candidates of General and OBC Category have to pay application fee of Rs. 100/-. Female Candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. The application fee is exempted for candidates of SC/ST/PH and Ex-Servicemen category also. Application fee can be paid by SBI Challan or by using Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card etc. Application Fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
How to Apply For SSC JE Application Form 2016
Candidates can fill the application form for SSC JE 2016 only through online mode. Registration will be done in two parts. After submitting one part, candidates can go for next part i.e. Part 2. Candidates have to visit the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in. Search for the link of SSC JE 2016 and Click Apply Online. Select your stream of engineering like Civil/Electrical/Mechanical etc. and after that fill the form completely like application fee payment detail, personal detail, education detail, experience detail. After that, Upload the scanned photo and signature etc. After checking the filled application form, Click Submit. Click Save and take printout of it for future use. Keep safe your registration number and password for future reference.
The exam will consist of two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Paper I will be of Objective Type and Paper II will be of Conventional Type. The performance of Paper II will be evaluated only if a candidates qualify in Paper I. The Paper I will consists of 200 MCQs from three topics. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and there will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. Subject wise detail for Paper I and Paper II is given below:
Exam Pattern for Paper I:
Total duration for Paper I will be 2 hours.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 questions
- General Awareness: 50 Questions
- General Engineering(Civil/Electrical/Mechanical): 100 questions
Exam Pattern for Paper II:
This will be of conventional type exam paper. The duration to attempt this exam will be 2 hours and total marks will be 300. Questions will be asked from General Engineering from the relevant field like Civil/Electrical/Mechanical.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in written examination and Interview. The performance in conventional exam will be analysed only if they secure minimum qualifying marks in Objective type exam i.e. Paper I. Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview and Final selection will be made on the basis of combined performance in test and Interview.
